LODGEPOLE PINE CLEAN-PEEL SAMPLE
|
|
This is a sample of clean-peeled with all cambrian layer removed showing the nice white color of
Lodgepole Pine. The only dark will be character spots, such as from limbs and catfaces. All styles
have the multi-faceted surface created by the drawknife in the hand-peeling process.

CLEAN-PEELED
LODGEPOLE PINE LOG
|
|
This
is a custom hand peeled log which has been clean-peeled. You can see all
bark is removed in this style. We carefully maintain razor sharp edges
on peeling knives to give aesthetically pleasing clean crisp lines with
each cut. Note the uniformity of depth of each cut resulting in nice evenness
of width in each cut. Skilled peel-cuts provide the aesthetics of a beautiful
hand peeled log while maintaining the desirable rustic roundness of the
log.

SKIP-PEELED
LODGEPOLE PINE REGULAR & CHARACTER LOG
|
|
|
This is a custom
hand peeled log which has been skip-peeled. The appealing characteristic
of this style is an alternative rustic look of retaining some of the inner
bark along with the clean-peeled portions of the log to yield a light
and dark finished look. Note one is a normal log and one is a character
log.

LODGEPOLE PINE HEAVY SKIP-PEELED
|
|
This is a sample of
heavy skip-peeled with about 75% of cambrian layer of dark wood removed showing
about twice to three times the white, as of the dark of the Lodgepole Pine.
The dark wood will be about 25% of the surface color, while showing the
multi-faceted surface created by the drawknife in the hand-peeling process.

|
| |
LODGEPOLE PINE LIGHT SKIP-PEELED
|
|
This is a sample of light skip-peeled with about 25% of cambrian layer of
dark wood removed showing about equal to twice the white, as of the dark
of the Lodgepole Pine. The dark wood will be about 50-75% of the surface
color, while showing the multi-faceted surface created by the drawknife in
the hand-peeling process.

TURNED
LODGEPOLE PINE LOG
|
|
|
This
is a turned log. Though this style looses some of the rustic look, the
natural beauty of the Lodgepole log is retained. This sample has some
old finish. This log style does have some other benefits: 1) It is uniform
diameter the full length of the log, eliminating the natural taper of
hand peeled logs; 2) It can be better suited to high volume/machine production
of finished furniture and railings. The downside can be that potential
customers of high quality finishings prefer the more natural style hand
finish over the machine finish look.

SPLIT
LODGEPOLE PINE LOG
|
|
|
This is a split
log. This log style does have some additional applications: 1) It has
one uniform flat surface the full length of the log, enabling it to be
used in trimming-out built-ins and accents; 2) It can be utilized in applications
not well suited to full round logs; 3) As can be noted from the skip-peel,
these can be supplied in whatever style desired by the customer.
